Muller Freres Luneville Art Deco Lustre.
Very beautiful French Art Deco chandelier made in
the Muller Freres factory in Luneville (near Nancy France) about
1910.
The shade is made with hand blown glass that shows a rich mottled
and it’s finished with a clear overlay of acid frosted glass.
As it is hand blown glass the rim is slightly waved and on the
bottom has a polished pontil.
The hanging fixture is made of brass, typical from the time and
the ends for to fix the glass are small flowers.
Signed “Muller Fres Luneville” that was the Muller's
signature in Luneville.
Muller Freres:
Muller Freres were one of the major French glassmakers in the
Art Nouveau and Art deco times. All the family were glassworkers,
and there were nine brothers and one sister in the Muller Freres
company.
The two oldest brothers, Désiré and Eugène
Muller, worked in the glassworks of Emile Gallé, where
they learned how to produce art glass (± 1885). The other
family members found work in several other glassworks in the surroundings
of Lunéville and developed into recognised glass decorators.
Later Henri, Pierre and Victor Muller also ended up working for
Gallé.
Henri and Eugène Muller were responsible for some 144 designs
in the years 1904 -1906 for the Belgian "Cristallerie de
Val Saint-Lambert" where Georges Deprez was the general director.
Their work can be compared in style and quality with Daum.
They formed their own company in 1895 in Luneville and Croismare,
and continued (with a break during the first world war) making
superbly decorated art nouveau glass. Some of their carved cameo
glass designs had as many as seven layers of different coloured
glass.
When they re-established themselves in Luneville in 1919 after
the First World War, most of their production was more commercial
and they made a large volume of lamps, bowls and vases with a
mottled effect. In this period they designed a typical Art Deco
line, where decorations of animals and landscapes were striking
beautiful. After crash on the New York stock exchange in America
business went down for the Muller Frères and in 1936 they
definitively closed their glassworks.

Very good. It has been rewired for Continental Europe Standards.

La tulipa es de vidrio soplado que nos muestra un rico efecto
moteado en tonos naranjas recubierto de vidrio claro esmerilado
al ácido.
La montura es de latón, típica del tiempo y los
remates para sujetarla a la tulipa representan pequeñas
flores.
Como el vidrio está soplado a mano, el borde está
ligeramente ondulado, y en el fondo tiene el pontil pulido.
Firmada “Muller Fres Luneville”, que era la marca
de Muller en Luneville.
Muller Freres :
Muller Freres fueron unos de los principales vidrieros franceses
de las épocas Art Nouveau y Art Deco. Toda la familia eran
vidrieros, un total de nueve hermanos y una hermana en la compañía
Muller Freres.

diseñaron una línea Art Deco, donde las decoraciones
con animales y paisajes eran impresionantemente bellas.
Después de la caída de la bolsa de New York, el
negocio de la compañía Muller Freres cayó
y en 1936 cerraron definitivamente la vidriera.
Condición;
Muy buena. Ha sido recableada de acuerdo a los requerimientos
de la Europa Continental.
