Majestic French art deco chandelier signed by Muller
Frères Luneville on all glass parts.
The design shows patterns of geometric forms (rising sun) and
frozen flowers and additional little stars on the central shade.
The decoration of the central glass closes with a big star in
the centre. To mention also is that this shade is deeper than
the more often seen ones.
The glass is frosted very dense and fine by acid. Few selected
parts got covered before the process so that they remained clear.
With the light shining through the glass the interaction between
the frosted parts and the clear highlights is giving lots of life
to the chandelier.
What we see here is one of the best pressed glass designs this
company has made.
The metal parts of the suspension are also of high quality. All
parts are cast bronze with fire gilding.
The topic of the design are branches of a cherry-tree with leaves
and fruits.
The branches are “bound“ together by ribbons.
The central arms are hanging from little hooks formed by the branches
on the top and are attached by rings to the supports of the central
shade. These show a composition of cherry leaves and hanging cherries.
The arms of the tulips end in S-shaped extensions.
The quality of design and material for this mounting are near
to the pieces by Louis Majorelle who worked for several companies
in Nancy. A suspension with cherry leaves and cherries was made
by “Demarco“ for Daum frères in Nancy.
While the design of the suspension is more art nouveau the one
of the glass parts is clear art deco.
On the other hand the designs of the metal parts and the glass
harmonize perfectly with each other. Another point is that the
three joints between the central shade and the suspension fit
so perfect together that they must have been made for each other.
And the last point but not the less important, is that the chandelier
is exactly as we found it in France, coming from an old villa
(real state) in Biarritz.

Condition:
One lampshade has a haze/shadow in the glass by production. Chips
only invisible ones when assembled. These will be found in 99%
of the cases where glass parts are fixed to the metal fixtures.
Gilding worn by decades of cleaning.

Hanging 76 cm (rim of the top to lower rim of the tulips. With
the strong iron hook for fixing to the ceiling about 80 cm. Cannot
be made shorter).

Majestuosa lámpara francesa art deco firmada
por Muller Frères Luneville en todas sus tulipas.
El diseño muestra un patrón de formas geométricas
(sol naciente) y flores “congeladas” y pequeñas
estrellas adicionales en la gran tulipa central.
La decoración de esta tulipa central, acaba en una gran
estrella en el centro.
Es digno de mención también, que esta tulipa es
más profunda que las que se ven mas frecuentemente.
El cristal está escarchado al ácido de un modo muy
denso y fino. Unas pocas partes seleccionadas fueron cubiertas
antes de este proceso para que permanecieran transparentes.
Con la luz brillando a través del cristal, la interacción
entre las partes escarchadas y los puntos transparentes dan una
gran viveza a la lámpara. Esta pieza es uno de los mejores
diseños en cristal prensado que produjo esta compañía.
Las partes metálicas de lámpara son también
de gran calidad. Todas ellas son de bronce dorado al fuego.
El motivo de la decoración son ramas de cerezo con hojas
y frutos. Las ramas están unidas por lazadas.
Los brazos centrales cuelgan de pequeños ganchos formados
por las ramas del copete y están unidas por arandelas a
los soportes de la tulipa central. Estos muestran una decoración
de hojas de cerezo con cerezas colgantes. Los brazos de las tulipas
terminan en forma de “S”.
La calidad del diseño y materiales de esta montura están
próximas a las piezas de Louis Majorelle, quién
trabajó para varias compañías en Nancy. Una
suspensión con cerezas y hojas de cerezo fue realizada
por “Demarco” para Daum frères en Nancy.
Por una parte el diseño de la montura es mas art nouveau,
mientras que el de las tulipas es claramente art deco, pero esta
combinación de diseños armoniza perfectamente. Por
otra parte los tres puntos de unión entre la tulipa central
y la montura casan tan perfectamente que tienen que haber sido
hechos el uno para el otro.
Y por último pero no lo menos importante, la lámpara
está exactamente como la encontramos en Francia, proveniente
de una antigua villa de Biarritz.

Una de las tulipas tiene una sombra nubosa de producción.
Algunos pequeños chips en los bordes de las 3 tulipas pequeñas,
invisibles bajo las monturas. Esto ocurre en el 99% de los casos
en que las tulipas se ensamblan en monturas metálicas.
El dorado está un poco gastado por décadas de limpieza.

de las tulipas. Contando el gancho para colgar alrededor de 80
cms, no se puede acortar.)
