Cute Art Nouveau Children Mug by WMF (Württembergische
Metallwaren Fabrik, Geislingen) around 1904.
Frieze of stylized flowers leading to a medallion in the centre
front. In the medallion the bust of a child holding a cat in
its arms.
The drawing is very detailed and represents the flowing soft
lines of art nouveau.
Mugs of this type used to be given as gifts for baptism, sometimes
as a set together with children cutlery.
Signed on the bottom “40“ (model number),
“B“ (for Britannia Metal, alloy of antimony and
pewter), “WMF G“-mark with running ostrich and “OX“.

Bonita taza para niños art nouveau de WMF
(Württembergische Metallwaren Fabrik, Geislingen) hacia
1904.
Presenta un friso de flores estilizadas enmarcando un medallón
en el centro del frente.
En el medallón aparece el busto de un niño abrazando
a un gato.
El trabajo está muy detallado y representa las suaves
y fluidas líneas del art nouveau.
Tazas de este tipo solían ser regalos de bautismo, algunas
veces junto con cubiertos para niños.
Marcada en la base con “40“ (nº
de modelo), “B“ (por Britannia Metal, aleación
de antimonio y estaño), “WMF G“-marca con
avestruz corriendo y “OX“.
