WMF Jugendstil Pen Tray.
WMF Jugendstil Britannia metal pen tray, depicting
a maiden holding a lily of the valley leave and flowers. Geislingen,
Germany, 1903.
She is on her knees and holds sweetly the leave that has just
the perfect form for to rest a pen, she is not dressed except
for her long hairs around her body.
The meaning of the Lily of the Valley is “You will find
the Happiness", and this is what we want you find with
this exquisite piece.
This not a very common model not being very often found on the
market.
She is marked under one of her foot with “WMF B”
(B for Britannia metal) and “a s” (for partially
oxidised antique silver). It has not the model number but appears
on the book “Art Nouveau Domestic Metalwork from Württembergische
Metallwarenfabrik”, pag. 301, as model number No. 215.

In general the condition is good according to the age and use.
It has some wear and lines along the leave and her body. We
are not sure about if once the figure has been re-soldered.

Bandeja para plumas Jugendstil de la marca WMF
en metal blanco “Britanniametall”. Representa a
una joven sosteniendo una hoja y flores de Lirio del Valle o
Muget. Geislingen, Alemania, 1903.
La niña está arrodillada y sujeta dulcemente en
sus brazos la hoja que tiene simplemente la forma adecuada para
acoger una pluma.
El significado del Lirio del Valle es “La felicidad Volverá”
y eso es lo que queremos que consiga con esta exquisita pieza.
Es un modelo poco corriente y no se encuentra muy a menudo en
el mercado.
Está marcada bajo uno de sus pies con “WMF B”
(B por britanniametall) y “a s” (por plata antigua
parcialmente oxidada). No tiene el Nº de modelo, pero aparece
en el libro “Art Nouveau Domestic Metalwork from Württembergische
Metallwarenfabrik”, pag. 301, como modelo numero 215.
