Medium sized art nouveau shelf with 4 floors.
The wood is probably again tinted linden. It shows a very interesting
combination of organic and geometric forms. The floor next to
the top has about half the depth of the others. Optically the
top of the furniture with its round mirror is connected to the
lower part with a curved piece that is continuing the line from
the top part.
The little mirror is the only piece that has been added during
restoration. When we found the furniture it had a photography
in this place showing a man that may have been related to some
earlier owners. Since there were lots of doubts if this was
the original idea we decided to put a mirror. All the rest is
original and the surface got a new french polish.
The floor next to the top still shows some drops of ink, the
other floors normal signs of age and use. The holes of a slight
attack of woodworm got closed.
We estimate that the shelf was made between 1900 and 1910.

Presenta una combinación de formas orgánicas y
geométricas muy interesante. Tiene 4 baldas, la superior
bajo el copete aproximadamente la mitad de profundidad, que
se enlaza con las inferiores por medio de una pieza redondeada
que continua la línea de los laterales del copete.
Este en el centro tiene un pequeño espejo, la única
cosa que se ha sustituido. Originalmente había una foto
de un Sr., suponemos que antepasado de la familia propietaria
originalmente. Dado que teníamos dudas acerca de que
fuera la idea original, decidimos poner el espejo. Todo el resto
es original y la goma laca se ha renovado a muñequilla.
En la balda superior (la del copete) tiene unos restos que no
se han podido eliminar de manchas de tinta, las otras baldas
señales normales de uso(pequeños surcos en la
superficie de la madera cubiertos con la goma laca). Tuvo carcoma,
ahora eliminada y con los agujeritos cerrados con cera. Es de
hacia 1900-1910.
