French Art Deco lustre showing the typical frosted
flowers decoration used in the 20th and 30th of the 20th century
in clear frosted glass. Another common decoration of pressed
glass lampshades were compositions of geometric forms.
The canopy and the buttons (on the outside of the shade) of
this type of lamp are made out of turned wooden parts covered
with silk yarn. The shade is hanging at three strings of two-wire
rayon cord of whom one is connected to the socket.
During the times the textile gets eaten by moths and the isolation
of the cables get brittle so we replace the yarn and the cables
(cotton/rayon) with new ones in matching colours, golden in
this case, as was the original.
Condition: One flat chip to the inside of the rim.

Lustre art deco francés mostrando la típica
decoración de flores “congeladas” utilizada
en los años 20 y 30 del S.XX en cristal claro semi-mate.
Otra decoración típica para este tipo de tulipas
de cristal prensado, fueron composiciones de formas geométricas.
El copete y los botones (en la parte exterior de la tulipa)
de este tipo de lámparas está realizado en madera
torneada cubiertas de hilo de seda. La tulipa cuelga de tres
cordones de cable de dos hilos recubierto de rayón y
uno está conectado a la toma de luz y al casquillo.
Con el paso del tiempo la cobertura textil del cable fue atacada
por polillas y el aislamiento se hizo frágil, así
que los cables se han reemplazado por otros nuevos (cubiertos
de algodón/rayón) en color a juego, dorado en
este caso como era originalmente.
